XGT® is a new 40V | 80V system with its own tools, batteries and chargers. Its combination of innovative tool design and higher output batteries provide a genuine solution for the highest demands in construction, industry, horticulture and many other areas.
The Makita XGT® battery platform is designed for applications with particularly high power requirements. The XGT® batteries deliver a maximum of 40V, i.e. twice as much as the 18V batteries of the LXT® platform.
Despite their similarity to the 18V LXT® batteries in shape and size, the XGT® batteries are a new system. The XGT® series complements the proven LXT® product range in a number of applications that require high performance, thus enabling unprecedented independence from stationary power sources.

Fast and compatible charging
The tough 40V Max design is supported by a fast charging system: the charging time for the 2.5 Ah battery is 28 minutes while the 4.0 Ah battery is fully charged in 45 minutes. The batteries are equipped with a 4-LED fuel gauge indicator making it easy to know when they need to be charged. A charging adaptor enables the charging of both LXT® and XGT® products.
Smart Digital Communication
The XGT® range of tools and batteries come with a built-in program, that provides digital communication between the battery and the tool. The battery technology and the tools’ motor engineering work together for optimum performance. The XGT® range of products can easily take on the tasks of now, but they are also ready to adapt to the jobs of the future.
Built Tough
XGT® are designed specifically to be highly durable. They feature a waterproof triple-layer structure and a terminal short-circuit prevention structure.
The batteries are also equipped with a heavy-duty outer casing and cell holder for better shock resistance. Their durable rails hold them securely in place when using the new high power products.
